I love being aware of the ignorance of innocence or the willful ignorance presented in historical texts.

Like, yeah, maybe the fish women are just besties keeping each other warm in a drafty old house while their husbands are out to sea, but come on man, you know they sought each other’s comfort in more than just their warmth.

That paragraph reads like the writer knew but wasn’t allowed to say.

I hate that “cloacal kiss” flows so well. It squicks me out but also has a good sound and my brain cannot handle the cognitive dissonance.

Basically, I’m now mad at you. 😂 (Mostly) kidding.

It is similar to how when you say the word “poop” your mouth does the same motions that your butthole does when you poop.

And when you yell “explosive diarrhea” your mouth does the same…

“Cloacal Kiss” yeah I’m no scientist but I think the analogy holds true.

Sharing a bed with strangers was pretty common. Most places to stay had one bed for all the guests to share.

But I don’t think they posed like this.

A lot of times corpses of woman have been found buried with weapons and armors. The researchers always determine that these must’ve been decorative and never could they have been warriors buried with their gear.

    It is after all HIStory!

If they couldn’t determine whether it was a man or a woman, they used to default to male when they found weapons.

I get the impression people believe their ancestors were some how mentally stunted, like mind of a three year old type shit. Many were uneducated but they had all the cognitive ability as you or me. They might not of understood science but I’ll tell you one thing they most certainly understood, fucking.

Well given the written date of 1831, they likely only did sponge baths that focused on visible areas and full baths were a luxury of the wealthy that wasn’t a daily affair, they definitely had a certain aroma common to their work.

I hate that the idea of lgbtq people through out history is some kind of taboo or inconceivable idea. King Philip II, Alexander the Great’s father, had a love affair with two seperate men, both named Pausanias, and was killed by one of them.

Obviously the first one was shopping for a bed and was asking for the opinion of the second one.
