Nonsense. People store boxes of crap they bought on Amazon in their garages already, and leave their cars outside on the driveway. That’s what they’ll continue to do. Yoga, art studio, small business? Ha!

They have to use the word Pod wherever they can. It makes it sound like a new idea.
Lots of places don’t have taxis that you can call to your house. And in the areas that do, often times the taxis are unreliable. And yeah they can get quite expensive.
Taxi driver isn’t one of those jobs that we should protect from automation. There’s no creative theft in a self driving car.
fair, but I think the actual comparison is to ride share apps rather than classic Taxis.
I haven’t checked the pricing of Waymo and whatnot, but I suspect they’re drastically cheaper than Uber/Lyft. Just like how Uber/Lyft used to be drastically cheaper than regular Taxis. But now that they’ve established their market, prices have gone up to what Taxis used to be.

Due to tech bros being happy to sacrifice safety for their progress and stock prices. Musk mainly. However,.the technology will mature. It’s inevitable at this point.
I’ve just travelled interstate to see the in laws for Easter. We flew so as not to lose a day. It would be great if those pods in the future came in the evening and we just slept our way to their place with electric vehicles.
Using the roads that already exist with automated vehicles 24hrs would reduce traffic and delivery times etc. It is just a matter of ensuring that companies like Amazon are not the only game in town and the infrastructure is open and usable by all.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my garage workshop, but let’s have some perspective here.
You could just install an Air conditioner? Like if you are spending enough time in the garage to need climate control it’d probably be worth it, unless the walls are brick but thats probably the exception. Like my garage has an AC and it’s fucken ancient, but it’s there probably doesn’t work though I doubt anyone has tested that for the last 27 years.

Not necessarily. Here in Texas even the 1100sqft small houses come with a 2 car garage.
The expectation is that both parents work, and since you need a car to get anywhere, you’ll need two cars.
I live that life right now. Without tech that doesn’t exist yet.
If I do need a car, I tap on my phone, book a car-sharing EV and walk 5 minutes to where it’s parked.
