Video of the whole thing is here
- Only the billionaire would vote for the billionaire tax initiative.
- Two words said so much more. [about Bianco lecturing Porter, the one woman on stage, about how to be a mother]
- In Los Angeles, housing anxieties take center stage.
- Villaraigosa could play spoiler.
- Nobody delivered a knockout blow.
It’s increasingly seeming like the old billionaire white guy may be the best choice. What the hell is this timeline?
Of course, the best choice is actually whichever Dem is polling the highest before the election deadline, since a general election with a choice between Bianco and Hilton would be a comic tragedy.
Looking at recent polling, it’s more or less random whether Becerra or Steyer comes out ahead. I figure that’s down to the various pollsters sampling methods and randomness.
I’m not going to be very happy voting for Big Oil Beccera but it seems like the best way to avoid the Republican Runoff.
The solution to this stupid problem is implementing Ranked Choice Voting for statewide offices but that’s a future fight, no good for the present.
Not all polls are equal.
The only polls where Becerra is the leading D candidate are D party sponsored polls, i.e. those polls paid for by the D establishment.

I’m ending up with Steyer; I don’t think Becerra actually stands a better chance of coming out ahead based on the available polls. Ranked choice would be nice here, but we don’t have it in this election.
don’t have it in this election.
Thanks to Gavin Newscum.
Personally I’d rather have split primaries & RCV like they do in NY
Do debates matter? Kamala destroyed trump more thoroughly than any political debate I’ve ever seen. Didn’t matter.
It matters because it has helped Democrats consolidate on 1-2 candidates, so they won’t get shut out of the general election, which was a real risk
The people who voiced opposition to open primaries seem to be proven right, huh? Too bad we can’t get ranked choice.
