They’re just hoping to get him to Jan 22 or so, so at 2 years less a day or so Vance has the longest run before a vote and it doesn’t count as a term. Ideally they’ll have his autopen sign the order to repeal POTUS term-limits too, so Vance isn’t hemmed-in by a 2+4+4-year expiration.
I know this doesn’t sound like much, but POTUS term limits are covered by the constitution, not normal law.
