Honestly. “Let’s make a big budget animated movie, but not release it in theaters!”

Fuck 'em, they don’t deserve the property.

Wasn’t it because the movie got leaked?

That was the argument why they leaked it, because it wasn’t going to be released in theater.

Idk not going to hold my breath as this is Paramount we’re dealing with, they don’t seem to give two shits of the Avatar universe. Ergo, not releasing The Legend of Aang movie in theaters which was quite idiotic.

They seem to have already confirmed four seasons of Seven Havens, so they’re in a much better position than they were with Korra where they thought season 1 would be the only one…then season 2, and then 3 & 4 could be planned at least partly together.

Whoa this is news to me, thanks! Perhaps they learned making a team think it’s their last season of work every season, doesn’t equal the best output 💀. Do you have a source of where they’ve disclosed this info by chance?

It was mentioned on the official podcast, Braving the Elements, I think. Or else at their comic con panel.

Obviously with Paramount being what they are, there’s still the chance that they turn around and cancel it later, but at least right now the status quo would lead to 4 coherent seasons.

The Avatar reappears as a child not at terms with their status, meats a young adult companion, and goes on an adventure while being pursued by a major military…

I guess it has been long enough that it is time to replay the original formula.

In unrelated news, I choose to believe that this was the plan all the way back in season 1, when Iron “lost” his white lotus piece.

I still have a high hope the story of why the world is in chaos is as follows:

The human and spirit worlds are now connected again, as Korra left them by the end of her story on screen. Therefore the humand and spirits have to learn to get along with each other. Because of this, there is more tension between them as a whole, similar to what we see with the spirit vines covering swaths of New Republic City in season 3. And Korra basically spends her time, alongside other airbenders, trying to maintain peace between the two groups. But either humans or spirits end up taking advantage over the other group in some way that pushes them to the limits, causing a war between the two groups. Korra tries to stop them and restore balance, only for both sides to treat her as a traitor. Maybe at one point she snaps and goes into avayar state, feeling severely overwhelmed. And while in that state she accidentally ends up destroying their world as they know it. Thus, we get the wasteland like world lf Seven Havens while also having Korra not being written as an evil avatar, but instead just misunderstood and pushed to her limits.

This is what I absolutely hope for and not some story about how Korra suddenly became evil and destroyed the world or pulled an Aang and disappeared for a long time.
