Carl Sagan would have figured it out and would have to able to explain it to a dumbass like me.
And somehow it would’ve been mesmerizing.
But then people would have found out that he lazily made up 75% of the historical background on why the hallway chirps because he thought it made a more compelling story (and had an amateur-at-best understanding of historiography), and then they would have promptly used this to try to discredit the entire discipline of physics
