Considering she was blaming California’s wild fires on “Jewish space lasers” I’m going to say this is lip service at best.

She’s an absolute cunt but I don’t think she’s the one who mistook the menorah in the graphic and her comment is pretty on point.

She’s probably a Nazi but as a Jew, I’m not getting bothered by this one.

It’s not obvious hate. It’s laziness and stupidity. Someone was tasked with this. Someone who had to look up that phrase. And somehow missed that the imagery was wrong. And then no one caught it because no one bothered to care.

It’s the level of apathy and clear pandering that is offensive.

Gonna be honest, it took me way too long to figure out what was wrong with the picture. As someone who isn’t Jewish, your comment made me stop and start looking for a hidden swastika or upside-down writing or something. It didn’t occur to me that menorahs are only used for Hanukkah(?), and it took way too long for Google to tell me that.

I’ve also learned that there are 7 candle and 9 candle menorahs, and that the 9 candle ones are used for Hanukkah, while it sounds like the 7 candle ones are decorative? Do I have that right?

I thought the shofar was also primarily a Rosh Hashanah thing, it’s more of an all-year symbol then?

The shofar is sounded at the close of Yom Kippur services as well as Rosh hashanah. That one fits.

These people get their understanding of other cultures from the same sources they get all their other misinformation. Even if she was being genuine she’d be wrong by default.
