I am EST, other timezones are preferred but not necessary.

Closed, I think we’re set for now, thanks for all of the interest!

I would be interested. I have a strong technical background, and a desire to help make this a successful NFL community as well as a desire to help support Lemmy communities in general.

        Thank you very much.

I know things are both early for the community, in the off season, and from what I can tell you are starting off moderating many communities.

Is there anything actionable that can be done now? Is there anything needed outside of just wanting more content to be posted and discussed?

Not really. Just need more content to come through really. When the season gets closer we need to figure out something for game threads etc., but right now there isn’t too much to do.

We are finding that moderators are generating most of the content right now and new users are lurking trying to get the character of the community. We are starting to get more subscribers and comments on our community but actual content submissions are low. Happy to add content from my resume feeds to c/nfl to help grow the community.

I agree. I did a lot of the initial seeding on some of the communities I mod, and some caught while others didn’t. Definitely need the users to post some content (anything relevant!). Would you like a role as a moderator or are you just saying you’re happy to post?

We’ve seen a lot of moderators posting the content right now. Eventually more people will post.

You can add me, I’ve never modded before but I could give it a try. I’m messing with the Lemmy API a bit so I might be able to help with some tools in the future.

I can help moderate. I was a 13 year Reddit user and avid nfl contributor. I have a sysadmin background and can code minimally. Maybe we can bring a migration bot into it.

Sure, I’ll add you. There’s no CSS on here or anything, but we would likely need a bot for game threads down the road

I can also help if you still need anyone. I’ve never modded before, but I was on Reddit for 12 years and I’ve got a ton of free time right now.

Happy to help mod, I reached out to you too on the c/PCMasterRace community. I want to contribute to help make Lemmy successful and educate people on transitioning to decentralized services.

Added. There isn’t a whole lot to moderate currently, but thanks for the help

Woa you’re running NFL too? I can help but got no technical background. BTW you’re missing Buffalo Bills.

Added-- the list is updated with only communities that have been linked to me to add to the list. I haven’t heard from any Buffalo communities

How does one link to here? I started the Falcons lemmy.world community and will be happy to link here.

Would also be interested in automated “game day posts” that update the post in semi-real-time as NFL game data is streamed. I don’t have the background in the Lemmy API to know how to do it.
