After a glorious birthday cream tea yesterday I’ve realised I’ve overestimated just how much clotted cream I would need and have a veritable dairy of leftovers. The scones are all gone and the rest of the strawberries won’t be ripe til next week, so anyone got any recipes or ideas with what I can do with a large tub of Rodda’s finest?
Clotted cream freezes no problem. Just pop it in the freezer until the strawberries are ready.
That is incredibly valuable info thank you so much
TIL
Grab a spoon and eat it straight out the pot 😅
Get out of my head
I suppose using it to smite one or more of your enemies is out of the question?
Hmmm, I will need to survey mine enemies for their lactose tolerance.
A good film, a spoon and some shame to bury deep, deep down beneath all that delicious cream.
More scones. Or make ice cream.
I have no suggestions (well I do, but it’s more scones, 'cos I bloody love scones). Just wanted to congratulate you on the post title. Well played.
+1 for more scones.
Such an apt username to suggest more scones as well.
It works well.in savory meals too so soups and steak source to creamy curries
Our meal.box uses leftover stock quite often

Mmmm some nice creamy pasta sounds like a good treat. I’ll definitely have a look at those recipes, cheers!
Some great recipes there. Will check them out.
Prepare for the coming tarmac-melting weather by making homemade clotted cream ice-cream.
Can I borrow your ice cream maker? Every time I’ve tried to hand whisk ice cream it’s turned into a crystalline (but still tasty) mess.
If I had one, you’d be welcome to it.
I’m afraid my culinary skills pretty much start and end with bowls of cereal.
Use it in a curry! Especially for something like Butter Chicken. Once you’ve got to the stage of making the gravy, add your clotted cream and let it cook down with all the spices. Adds a wonderful buttery element to the curry.
What no one suggesting thunder and lighting? Some thick crunchy white bread, clotted cream drizzle with golden syrup. Definitely the way to use up the leftovers. https://www.roddas.co.uk/recipes/thunder-and-lightning/
Never even heard of this but it does sound lush, cheers for that!
I’ve never heard of this recipe either, and I have everything I need to make it! I’ll definitely be trying this out.
