Would be nice to have a few iOS-only apps that are designed entirely around Apple’s UX, like Apollo. Please Christian, don’t leave us…

      Mlem is very Apollo reminiscent

Yeah I’ve used it, and it’s good. The text editor is better on Memmy though, more like Apollo. Search too.

Try wefwef.app in Safari and add it to your homescreen!

Yeah I tried it, and it worked fine…but I’d still prefer a native app from an amazing dev, y’know? Christian added so much to the Apollo app…sad to see it all go to waste.

Totally agree. I prefer a native app too. But hey, its something.

Dumb question but I have a Lemmy account, when I tried to use my login info there it didn’t work. Do I need to create an account there also and link them?

Should work fine. Have you selected the right instance? Lemmy.world?

Artemis is taking large inspiration from Apollo, while still being unique so it’s not an exact clone. The magazine is /m/ArtemisApp!

I’ve heard of it, just waiting for betas to open up a bit. Even then, however, the fact that it’s cross-platform means it’ll probably not be perfectly in-line with Apple’s HIG. Apollo almost feels like Apple designed it, which is part of why I enjoy it so much.

Only a few issues with Github. They are proprietary and have censored some projects. However, I just want to highlight the open and free options to host your projects.

I’m working on mine too (iOS)

Missing a few key features for now, but hopefully, I’ll be able to Testflight+OpenSource by the end of next week.

What’s the minimum required iOS version? I fear that I’ll be iOS 16 and up.

Indeed, because I’m using some of the recent SwiftUI APIs to handle app’s navigation. What iOS version are you on?

iOS 15.5 beta 4. And I know that there are people on even earlier versions due to several different reasons. That’s really unfortunate but understandable if it’s easier that way.

I believe Memmy is also planning on supporting Android soon if it doesn’t already. I’ve been super impressed with it so far!

I’m really liking Thunder and Liftoff. Having a hard time choosing between the two.

Same! I prefer compact view in Thunder, but it lacks the automatic dark theme switch, and an option to change overall colour (I can’t stand that much purple!)

Mlem is let down by the scrolling, way smoother on Memmy and Liftoff that i am also testing.

Mlem has the best font size though

He isn’t greedy. If he were greedy, he’d have figured out a way to keep way more money. The truth is, he is incompetent. Over half a billion dollars in revenue, for a company who’s only product is a website that costs a few hundred grand a year to run, and he can’t figure out in over a decade how to make money from this.

It doesn’t look like this Slide is built by the same dev. It’s just inspired by Slide for Reddit.

Sucks that all of the iOS apps require getting an invite to TestFlight, including joining some discord server to ask for it. It doesn’t help that Lemmy on mobile Safari sucks, so being an iOS user on Lemmy requires either a lot of patience or a high level of commitment.

It’s nice that there are a lot being worked on, but I feel like whichever hits the appstore first will win.

Does anyone know if there is a browser extension like RES (Reddit Enhancement Suite)? I really used the navigation bar with the ability to group communities.

    Why Tailwind?

No good reason. Initially I wanted to try out a seemingly-good CSS framework. It turned out to be awful, and so did Tailwind.

My advice? Never use Tailwind. It’s a waste of time.

The mobile site for kbin works quite well, you can install it as a PWA from your browser and it works much like a normal app.
