Anything with "higher"on the left (goes harder) just seems wrong. Arbitrary choice, sure, but it’s what I’m used to.

That’s not my connotation for Nightwish, but only because I learned of them by playing Littlebigplanet 2 haha (Whoever Owns the Night)

      They slap though!

I was hearing them in the 00s, and their sound had a deliciously sad vibe to my ear.

    TOOL would be EVERYWHERE.

Suicidal tendencies is definitely, want to kill yourself/ others right in the middle, and goes hard.

Melancholy and the infinite sadness by the Smashing pumpkins for wants to make you kill yourself but doesn’t go hard.

Metallica, Master of puppets for goes hard, but makes you want to kill yourself.

Andrew Jackson Jihad for goes hard, and makes you want to kill other people. Mostly thinking of “fuck white peope”.

    Following Cartesian quadrants:

    Q1: Sunn O)))

    Q2: Electric Wizard

Q3: Nine Inch Nails, specifically The Fragile

    Q4: Porcupine Tree - Signify

    Extra credit:

Left side: King Gizzard, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown

Right side: Delicate Steve, Lemon Jelly, The Orb - The Dream

Top: I’m kinda at a loss here, I can’t think of a band that makes you want to kill but has songs that both do and don’t go hard.

    Bottom: Steven Wilson

I’d give the top of extra credit to Danny Brown or Swans

I keep cracking up at Delicate Steve being perfect for the doesn’t go hard slider, though.

FUCK I can’t believe I didn’t think of SWANS. I love Soundtracks for the Blind.

Also Delicate Steve keeps popping into my head because of the joe cappa animation. It’s such a funny video.

Fyi Lemon Jelly and Delicate Steve are artists, not albums. I just realized they were listed in a way that might make you think they were albums by The Orb. Also, those three don’t really make you want to kill anything tbh, but they’re pretty chill and don’t really go hard.

    Sour Times -Portishead.

    Low Key Suicidal.

Frankly, most of music sung by Beth Gibbons is borderline suicidal. Even the “happy” songs.
