No, nothing to do with piefed. I did read that at one point there was actually a hard code to turn that symbol back to normal text, but that’s hearsay, as if it exists its not enabled. Said user is manually typing it in in this case

They claim its to poison AI models, but its been repeatedly proven to them that it doesn’t work. They also claim to want to bring back older English symbols like this too, not only has it been pointed out they’re using it wrong many times, but in my case and some others, it just makes their comments an illegible mess. Ultimately they’re just one of those edgy Lemmy personalities.
That’s Yuki, a ringed seal at the Osaka Aquarium. Known to take this squished sea potato pose, so they sell plushies of that at the aquarium, which is what’s in the post.

Sadly, that’s not the norm - LCOL areas perhaps, but 800k isn’t a wild number for a starter home these days.
Ironic as they’re part of the reason they’re so costly now, but: https://www.zillow.com/news/242-cities-now-have-starter-homes-that-cost-1-million/

An article without actually linking to the image database? I don’t know why I expected anything else… But here’s a direct link to all 12k+ images
Its another beep account, so they’ll only be posting comics that dont have watermarked attribution to skirt the new rules
Just like to draw your attention back to this topic as
underpantsweevilbeep has now spooled up multiple alts (both under beep, boop, and keep nicknames) to avoid their lemmus ban, and has continued the same behavior as before.Edit: I see that the moderation on the community was updated hours ago, so its been resolved for the moment.
Hate on cars all you want, and the idiocy that accompanies them, but please don’t encourage setting things on fire in California, especially as they start to enter fire season. That’s a good way to end up with massive, out of control fires that do billions in damage.
Just call a towtruck. They’ll have a field day here.
Is this a proposal for how much billionaires should be taxed? Because if so, I’m on board.
Left side of the 24 pin power connector. Definitely AI, which is ironic.
Have: PHEV Crossover with enough ev range to get me 99% of the places I need
Want: public transit for 98% of my travel, and a cheap sports car like a miata for the weekends or any long trips I might take

Pebble - rePebble@discuss.online•February Pebble Production and Software UpdatesEnglish
3·5 months agoWell, I went from my pebble time to a garmin fenix, as it was the closest to a pebble as I could find. I don’t use half the features it has because I didn’t want them, but the physical hardware still adds battery drain and size to it, which isn’t desirable, and makes even the 42mm size an absolute unit on my wrist. Also, it was multiple times the cost of what the pebble is. A current gen one with the MIP display is almost a grand - discounting the amoled/microled models as they’ve got an unacceptably short battery life.
The pebble is simple, only does what it needs to, and is indeed cheaper than any equivalent models out there. I’m absolutely looking forward to my new PT2 arriving

9·5 months agoThe lack of “features” IS the selling point. It does only what a smartwatch should, its not another phone on your wrist but rather just a device that informs you what’s going on with the phone you’re already carrying and lets you do some limited control of the phone from your wrist, and lasts forever between charges, as a smartwatch should.
A perfect example of no matter how obvious you think the sarcasm might be, the “/s” tag should be included.
Interpretation of that message changes wildly with and without the tag.

Can at least add the source…
The ship name is “The Galaxy” and its in Koh Chang. Not important enough for a wiki article it seems, but a fair number of articles on it out there.

4·10 months agoUsing graphineos on a pixel fold, only complaints is that the taskbar isn’t editable like it is in stock android, and sometimes it does not enable the inner screen when I unfold it, but only when full screen stuff is open. Close it and it works fine.
Super small nitpicks overall. Everything else works as expected for me.

When I try to read it, I can’t parse it as anything other than a “p” or “b” so its not so much making me actively read as it is utterly confusing. Is that a me issue? Sure, but i’ve seen other comments to that same effect in the past too.
So I don’t see it as a fun reading excersize, there’s plenty of that already without adding strange characters to the mix here.
