      its the ingredient and nothing else. no one will ever convince me otherwise.

      I think it would be more clear with an apostrophe at the beginning of the word. But if you do the technically correct thing and put apostrophes at both ends to stand in for both elided syllables then it looks like the whole word is in quotes, and you’re back to square one. It’s a 'nundrum.
