Didn’t initially like the look of lemmy and tried Kbin, but kbin randomly was slow and has no way to hide posts. Lemmy seems snappier and more concise…hoping to find some ability to hide content if you upvote it. I love clearing my feeds up once i’ve seen content once.

edit: I see there’s a hide read option in settings! What constitutes a read post on a desktop PC? Opening comments? simply scrolling past it? Interesting…

edit 2: ohhhh shit, opening comments AND it hides on upvote - fuck yes, well i’m here to stay then.

    Cheers!

Thanks for testing out the feature and sharing about it!

Yeah… It’s ugly. The dark red theme is the best IMO. But comments now look a lot more slick in v18, and the Thunder app is looking like the one to beat.

I’m really hoping Mlem gets better or another app comes out. A good feature heavy app with feed customization would cinch Lemmy as the place to be.

Memmy is quite decent! The only thing I can’t seem to do is mark my reply notifications as read.

Memmy stopped loading content for me a few days ago. Not sure what happened. I’m currently using liftoff.

Liftoff looked ok (some heavy text leading for my liking) but it didn’t hide posts upon upvoting or viewing comments, booo

I’m mostly using it because Memmy is somewhat broken for me as of the latest update. Though I think I sorted it out. Memmy wasn’t playing nice with a password change, I ended up needing to fully remove it from my phone and reinstall and now it’s working.

Yeah, I really like the way Lemmy handles reading posts and comments in general. It’s one of the things it immediately has on Reddit.

I’m just back on the PC and i’m noticing my feed is auto-filling brand new posts (Even on ‘Top Day’). Anyone know how to disable this, it’s super annoying :)
