It’s a crossplay mandatory game, if you’re a dick, PSN wants a way to block you. No different than getting VAC banned.

This isn’t steam servers, it’s Sony servers. What do you want?

It doesn’t need it for crossplay.

Then VAC ban the steam account since you sold on steam. The game worked fine for months after launch without requiring a PlayStation account and would continue to work fine otherwise.

The most major issue is that BECAUSE they didn’t enforce a tiny part of their terms of use that is a dealbreaker for most users, those users will now be unable to refund the game due to steam’s “2 hours playtime = no refund” rule

It was required from the start, why are buying something without knowing if it will even run first? Its hilarious the amount of people defending something that’s people’s own stupidity.

Quite the sad reflection of reality unfortunately.

Because if it doesn’t run, you won’t get 2 hours of playtime and steam will refund it. Stop defending corporate greed on a social media platform DESIGNED to get away from corporate greed.

Abusing a system because you can’t be arsed to read something is an interesting take.

It’s interesting that providing information is always defending some corporation when it doesn’t align with your narrative……

So let me make a game that will work for exactly 3 hours and break. It’s the same concept here. They made the game. It worked for months. Now magically it won’t.

How’s it the same? They told everyone you needed psn, it was a restriction when the game came out, it lead to issues, they paused it and are now implementing it again.

A better example would be WoW making the game free for 3 months due to a card charging issue and people getting mad when they say they need to charge again.

It never worked as designed from the start it was broken, so they paused a requirement that was always there, and are now reimplementing it. The other option was to delist the game, but that would make the same people mad for a different issue, it’s a lose/lose situation for everyone.

Anyone who couldn’t read the steam page, or the giant splash screen when you launched the game, only have themselves to blame. This is literally brought on by people’s own stupidity, but defend that stupidity, please, let everyone else know you defend stupidity.

But sure make a game that works for 3 hours, totally the same thing lmfao.

They didn’t tell me shit. I bought the game. I got to that part. It let me skip it without anything saying that it would become a requirement at a later point. What about that is being told? This is literally the first time I’ve heard about this being a hard requirement. This also proves that it’s not actually a hard requirement. They can choose to do it.

But defend big corporations for unenforceable EULAs. Let everyone else know you defend Big Sony.

Steams page listed it, if you played at launch you were required to link it, and the splash screen said it was mandatory.

I’m sorry you apparently can’t fucking read, this isn’t a hard thing to grasp or anything. If you want to pretend to willfully ignorant after saying you read at least one of them. That’s entirely on you lmfao.

I love how this is showing all the morons who can’t read for shit, of FOSS this and FOSS that, open source this, Linux that, but can’t read a steam page before buying… huh. People keep showing their hypocrisy all over this place.

Edit Holy fucking shit!!! you literally have a Comment complaining about how people don’t read your door. You really want to die on this fucking hill? What a shocker, another hypocrite….

          Hi,

I don’t have a PSN account. I was able to log in and play without using a PSN account. At no point was I told that a PSN account would be required to play. My very reasonable assumption. Is that the PSN account requirement was listed for crossplay, or managing socials with PS players. If the game had not worked from day one, or if I had been notified in the game that this was merely a temporary solution, and that I would be unable to play at all in the coming months, then I would have refunded without even trying.

So no, despite what the little label said, PSN account was not required to play the game. It worked fine without the PSN account.

In an ideal world, the requirement would be removed. Since the availability of the game has arbitrarily changed a lot in the last 2 days, Sony should at least offer full refunds and an apology to the community.

            Hi

There was literally a splash screen you accepted when you loaded up the game the first time.

            You have no excuse, bye.

I don’t need to make an excuse. You’re making excuses, even more pathetic, you’re making excuses for a megacorp trying to datamine their customers by changing the conditions for use of the game that they already bought.

              Toodles.

                changing the conditions

We just established this was required before launch, why are you lying?

Give your head a shake lmfao.

I played the game without a PSN account, along with most of the HD2 community, and I was happy with the content, which in no way relied on having a PSN account. I don’t have one. I played the game. Therefore, it was not required, regardless of what the store blurb said. I got exactly one notice to link a PSN account, which I skipped, it was a skippable thing, meaning was not required. When I skipped the PSN account, it took me straight to the game. There was no notice that it would be required to link at a later date.

If no one has told you yet, you have an amazing tongue. Your capability to lick boots and kiss ass is unparalleled. Shame that Sony won’t notice your efforts here either.
