The Ottawa police needs all the good PR it can get after letting insurrectionists occupy the Parliament’s grounds for a month…

Its a tweet wi a bumper sticker that says “if a cop pulls me over they’re gay” and a picture of a police badge above a pride patch

What a regressive title. Police didn’t “hilariously troll” someone with a anti-LGBT bumper sticker. They did the bare minimum of their job and stopped a reckless driver. The title of the article implies that the police are in any way pro-LGBT, which they are - by design - not.

Just like the spectrum of gender, there’s a spectrum of bad cops. They’re still bad, just some are ever so slightly less bad.

Like, if gender were a giant delicious jawbreaker, then cop badness is a small 1.5-inch piece of turd that accidentally rolled out from your pant leg in front of your crush but there’s a honey-roasted peanut in it.

I mean, yes ACAB, but I feel it is a bit unfair to say “some are ever so slightly less bad” when some of them are committing literal rapes and murders, and others are not. Yeah, they support the system and all that, and that is very much Bad TM, but that is still world’s away from actually snuffing someone’s life. Which I admit is kind of a low bar, but yeah…

I imagine being a good cop requires a constant effort, as your environment tries to push you back into line with a broken system. Some try, many don’t.
