The thing to remember about Project 2025 is that it has a 180 day execution window. This stuff will happen so fast it’ll make your head spin.

Honestly, that 180 day window thing is nominal. The execution of all of that will take way longer with all of the litigation that would happen, and it’ll take a couple of years to get it all enacted (slow at first then accelerating as more gets enacted).

Personally, I’d prefer if it were fast. The sudden change would wake people up, and cause way more civil unrest. If it’s slow, we end up as frogs slowly boiling. Fewer people will protest or cause issues if things unfold slowly. It’s the idea of the frog in the boiling water. If the changes are swift, there’s a higher chance of ordinary people taking notice and fighting to reverse them.

The water is already 208 degrees man. This country is the montage in the opening scenes of a dystopian film as it is.

Crumbling infrastructure. Natural disasters. Civil unrest. Disease. Tense international relations. Food costs escalating, and only to get worse due to changing climate.

Except in the experiment that coined the phrase, the frogs jumped out. We ain’t jumping. We’re acting more like crabs in a bucket.

Hah, there’s no way they get all that done in 180 days. I believe they would want to do it, but someone’s been hitting Hitler’s party drugs if they think Washington can move that fast.

Congress isn’t captured and they do still need to actually amend the law on all of this. Or else the lower courts will tie it up for years. SCOTUS would have to abandon all procedure and decorum to get stuff moved quicker. And at that point the legitimacy is just gone.

Sure, that’s assuming this is an internal attack. However, if the goal is to cause our entire country to collapse as an attack from an external enemy, then making the Supreme Court appear blatantly illegitimate is a perfect way to do that.

Aren’t you guys noticing how this Republican takeover emulates right-wing takeovers done by the CIA everywhere? The CIA didn’t just do this to attack leftwing stuff, they also did this so we could take resources from those countries. Aka there’s another country (or group of super wealthy leaders) trying to destabilize us and extract our resources/wealth here.

Stop getting mad at the chess pieces and look at the chess player.

I wouldn’t be surprised if half the reason we don’t have higher-ed reform is because of that. If college were free or even affordable, nearly nobody would go to the military.

Hell part of why we got so entrenched in Vietnam was because our economy couldn’t find room for all the grownup boomer kids. So just institute a draft and send them off to the jungle to die instead.

I’m all for cutting military spending, but this is not the spot to cut. Stop ordering Jets nobody wants, Armored Personnel Carriers that don’t safely meet the role, and bullshit other places that spend when they are unneeded. Soldier benefits are necessary.

    • LeadersAtWork

Nah, them ordering that stuff is fine, if it’s up to standard. What should really light your fires is that they order these from places that grossly overcharge, and don’t seem to give a fuck. $5000 for a pair of socks is a joke for a reason.

      • @Adalast

I know it isn’t “always”, but it has been proven that the “overcharging” is a way to launder money into black budget projects and operations. They aren’t always “bad”, the Manhattan Project was a black budget, as was the development of the stealth bomber.

I am also less concerned about a 5k pair of socks and more worried $90 million/plane F-35 that is widely regarded by pilots as a worse plane than the jets being replaced. You know, the one we spent $2 Trillion developing. I’m sure there were some $25k hammers in there, but overall it was so much other waste. Let’s cut some of that type of spending.

Don’t wanna be that guy, but this seems pretty far down the list of awful stuff it would bring.

Every entry is written like : We’ll destroy this freedom we don’t like as well as anything else we don’t like. Followed by: We’ll dismantle these other human rights plus anything else we don’t like.

It’s literally “We’re going to do whatever we want and we’re going to make anyone who opposes us an enemy of the state. Thus removing all rights to personhood for those people.”

If they get control, slavery will return to America in less than a couple years.

Sure they’ll be called “Prisoners with jobs.” and instead of “just” black people. It will be all poor people and a bunch of women and queer kids

This plan is a recipe to create a ruling class who trade in the lives over humans. Especially the idiots that vote for them.

Ok so I got a bit ranty… but the thing is. I’m writing this thinking it sounds pretty hyperbolic right? Sounds like I’m blowing it way out of proportion… but I read it and think… NO it’s even worse than that…

It’s much higher than you realize. VA budget is roughly 180b, and that won’t be cut. Instead it will all be privatized.

So now the burden is on the private healthcare to treat veteran specific issues, and they won’t.

There are also hundreds of thousands of vets who depend on the compensation payments. Now you have hundreds of thousands of additional homeless people across the country. They are now a burden on society.

The 180b? All going into the coffers of Federalist society allies and big businesses. That is a lot of money removed from the economy. It will ripple worse than any factory shuttering. This one is going to cause massive devastation so some rich fucks can buy a new yacht and be oligarchs.

I love the Biden cages thing. It shows how ignorant people are because they only read headlines. Every president detains unaccompanied minors. Are you saying you’d rather us leave children alone in a dessert? What we do is pick them up and house them until we find the closest relative in the USA. This is almost always done in <2 weeks. Please read the article and not just the headlines.

Edit: yes, there was a surge where kids were briefly detained outdoors while they were being transitioned to a more stable housing situation (while we still searched for relatives).
