President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris held their first joint event since Biden exited the 2024 race and endorsed her to take his place atop the Democratic ticket.

The two walked out together to cheers to deliver remarks on stage at Prince George’s County Community College in Maryland about the economy and what their administration has done to alleviate costs for Americans.

That includes the administration’s announcement earlier Thursday that the Department of Health and Human Services reached an agreement on price negotiations for 10 commonly used drugs that they say will save Medicare enrollees $1.5 billion in out-of-pocket costs when the new prices go into effect in 2026.

“We know it is not just about health care, it is about your dignity,” Biden said of the policy. “It’s about peace of mind. It’s about security. It’s about taking care of your family. It’s about giving folks just a little bit more breathing room.”

“Thanks Obama” became a meme, now “Thank you Joe” is becoming a chant?

Has something like this happened to any other president as they’re preparing to leave office?

Wtf are they doing? Aren’t the VP and POTUS supposed to stay separate while out and about, for national security? Last thing we need is that creepy Mike guy in charge.

When did the sanctification of Joe Biden start anyways? He’s by far the worst example of a leftist in existence.

He’s one of the biggest proponents of the murderous drug war and the police militarization that came with it. Nobody since Nixon has caused more damage with anti drug policies than Biden. He should have never been the nominee or president. Just like Hillary should have never run.

I’ve been watching Biden since the 80s, So it’s funny looking at 2024 and hearing people blindly defend him and his character.

Nobody here is saying Trump should ever be an option, we’re all left, but Biden is barely that.

Bidens Trump’s kryptonite. He can’t stop talking about the guy. This donald dump stuff is perfect. He needs to stay on the trail and keep Trump off message campaigning against the wrong candidate.

no he’s not his kryptonite, are you kidding? he was his ticket.

he can’t stop talking about biden because he was leading Biden in every single poll. now that Harris started to surpass him especially in key states, he’s lamenting his dream campaign against biden.

also for him to keep campaigning against biden you don’t need to bring him to rallies. he already does it anyways. he was still talking about hillary just recently. and he even brought up obama again. the dude can’t get over anything anyway.

i got your point. I’m saying without him you still get all the benefits, and with him not only do you not get anything extra, but you lose points if anything.

Sure, but until help comes, people die without dignity. I don’t think that’s being taken seriously.

Youre right. Since grandma died of diabetes it would be unfair to try and fix it in the future.

Only if the biden administration creates a time machine to go back and save my grandma should we try something as ridiculous as saving lives in the future.

No, it’s unfair to leave grandma to die because she won’t live to an arbitrary date in the future.

So lets not be satisfied with 2026 and continue to push for this change ASAP. Instead of “thank you” say “it’s a good start”.

You could have written that as a top comment instead of whining, and then people would be agreeing with you instead of finding you irritating and dismissing your words.

the Medicare drug pricing agreement is just noise and will not help seniors with the majority of what the elderly in the US drastically need now

we need access to better senior centers (currently most cities have two a free one and one that not even the VA will cover at over $1000 a day and the biggest differences are the paid ones have nurses on staff and does not hand out food that is months out of date or the free one’s building is needing major help), the VA needs funding, hospital wait times for the VA and regular hospitals are too long, end of life care consists of morphine doses that are upped until the person is gone, seniors need better access to food, and the list goes on

and Biden and Harris are acting like we should worship them over drug prices that yes we need to be lowering drug costs but it does not help when what is affecting the elderly’s health right now in the US is so much more than lowering a few drug prices

"Their proposed policy does not address an issue they never clame to address, and they’re acting like one of them in a presidential campaign "

But the issue you raised is indeed an important one nonetheless
