This is actually a criticism that was often levied at Trump and it’s apt. Putting down a nebulous red line and then ignoring it even when the other party can’t do the bare minimum of pretending to follow it results in everyone acknowledging your country is a joke. Definitely criticized them during the election but always made sure to say who I am voting for.
