Do not microwave anything plastic. There is no such thing as microwavable plastic. “Microwavable plastic” is simply plastic that doesn’t melt in the microwave. It can still leech, though. Thats why spaghetti often turns plastic Tupperware red when microwaved.

There are also glass tupperwares and microwave safe metal tupperwares.

The red/orange residue is also left on those, mainly due to the lycopene not dissolving in water. But I’m with you in the no heating or cooking in plastic.

If i recall, the main trick is to make sure there aren’t any sharp corners or other places that are close enough together that arcing can occur. But there might be some additional stuff, like coatings and other design choices that are necessary to promote even and effective heating (otherwise the microwave will heat the bowl instead of the food since the radiation won’t pass through metal like it does with plastic, paper, or glass).

Chinese carry out has been coming in rectangular plastic containers. These are wonderful for reheating things and not being concerned about what happens.

I still maintain that I absolutely know what I’m doing, and I’m awesome for it. It’s this world that says I’ll get diabetes, and other health issues if I do a handstand hovering over a display of upward pointed sharp knives, eating a bowl of doreoittos as a cereal with no milk.

What? You never heard of doreoittos? It’s when you twist open an oreo, so it’s now two halfs of an oreo. Then you put dorittos in the middle, and then reassemble the cookie.

You also have one piece of cutlery that you hate and you don’t know where it came from. You don’t get rid of it though. You’d sooner do the washing up while starving than use that stupid slightly wider fork, but it stays in the draw just in case.

Depends on your accent really, and it can refer to the drawers in your room, or to your drawers (britches) in your drawers (furniture).

It is still spelled “drawers” though no matter how it’s pronounced lol.

You’ll google “inpatient mental health treatment near me,” realize none of the options your insurance covers are all that good and you can’t really afford to take that much time off work anyway, and close the window. (Assuming you’re American, and probably need to get your meds adjusted.)

It’s very hard to get psychiatric help covered by insurance/healthcare in Europe too unfortunately.

As for getting time off work, have you looked into FMLA leave? I’m unsure what goes into eligibility but if you qualify, your employer is required to allow up to 6 months leave each year for any short term disability including mental health and burnout.

You might or might not get your full salary (assuming you are salaried) during this time, but it will keep your job secure as long as you document ongoing care with your employer’s disability provider.

My job actually offers paid leave for a certain amount of health stuff outside of our normal leave, but there genuinely aren’t any places anywhere near me that don’t kind of suck, except for private facilities that I definitely can’t afford. Not being able to afford time off is also because there are only 2 of us that do my job and my coworker is having serious health issues. Like lots of hospitalization, months off serious. I’m basically fine, I just haven’t been happy in a really long time, so the idea of intensive treatment sounds kind of nice.

My adult life so far: new furniture is cool, but have you seen my new collars? They’re Memphis design-themed! Also I have another protobean because 24 of the little fuckers weren’t enough. Oh boy, it’s Friday! VRC drinking/getting-stoned-out-of-your-mind night! I just spent 9hrs doing an assessment at a mental hospital with my dad and oh boy am I glad my dad was there because otherwise I woulda been locked in without any outside contact but I got to go home after 9hrs of sitting in an empty room with my dad with nothing else to do except talk about life. At least I got a lot of misunderstandings cleared up and I’m feeling way more supported by my parents now (which I need a lot of atm).

(I’ve had a lot of things happen in the past couple months that have made me feel as though I’m starting all over again, but in a good way)

That’s semantics, but the important part is containers should be made out of glass or metal. Glass ideally so they’re microwaveable and not heavy.

You buy several matching sets and can’t match the lids to the tubs so you buy more sets and make the problem worse.

I had a glass set and a plastic set. The glass set had plastic lids per each container. I let my husband take my glass containers to work and he’s broken all but 2 but now the lids for those 2 unique shapes are missing by I have all the others! Some things I just need to throw out and cut my losses.

Problem is when they break or wear out and they don’t make the good ones anymore cos they changed the design 7 times to save 1c in manufacturing costs since you last bought new ones.
