Reminder that CEOs are just the mouthpiece, it’s senior board members that are the real problem, the ones making the actual decisions and putting profits over anything and everything else.

Andrew Witty was the CEO of Arthur Andersen. For the Gen Zers out there, Arthur Andersen was one of the big five accounting firms until they were found to be massively cooking the books for the energy company Enron. Enron is also largely responsible for California’s fucked “deregulation” energy market. He is a crook and United Health knew that when they put him in to head the board.

Most of the board members at these companies are CEOs of other, often related and even partnered companies. While the CEO at a given company isn’t the only one to blame, CEOs in general covers the vast majority of the fuckers.

That’s a crazy choice in my opinion. Brian Thompson made what, 10 million a year? They could pay me 1/4 of his salary and I’d do everything I could to destroy the company until I got fired. I’d get AT LEAST one paycheck which would be a life-changing amount of money for the majority of the country.

They are going to hire private security, with their endless profits.
If you were hired as a CEO and you were paid tens or hundreds of millions of dollars, you would have the financial means to help a lot of people. You could buy apartment complexes and lower the rent. You could open up homeless shelters. You could start a food pantry. You could buy medical debt and write it off. You could pay for legal funds to help domestic abuse victims.
The problem with people making millions or billions a year is that they don’t use their wealth to help others.

Harr didn’t receive much communication from the platforms he did business with. On December 20, Paypal, Shopify, and Apple Pay cut him off. According to EFF, Shopify told him it was because of “offensive content” and that the decision “was made by our banking partners.”
Didn’t somebody try making a set, then got immediately blacklisted from all the corporate

Of all the times companies hire from outside the company, this would have been an appropriate one. Instead, let’s go with someone who comfortably knows the system and won’t rock the boat. Heck, if an outsider were hired with a “it’s time to make some changes” message, at least PR could have something to spin.

I should have said “I hope for him”. Personally I don’t give a rat’s ass.
I mean I don’t wish bad things to happen to anybody, but chances are, if this Brian Thompson replacement got the job, it’s probably not because he’s a charitable man who’s desperate to do right by UHC’s patrons. So if he gets whacked - and he clearly has a giant target on his back - I might not weep at his funeral.
You’re going to have to do more than wish bad things on one individual before this is all over. That’s an archaic sentiment in these times.
