Telling players not to murder anyone – even other players – is infringing on your players’ agency. YTA.

    This comment is my favorite.

Matt Collville did a great video, “What Makes a Great Player Character”, where he gives three rules:

    1. You should like your character
    2. The other players should like your character
    3. Your DM should like your character

“Everyone should be pulling in the same direction” and “you chose that character and chose to play them in that way, you could have chosen a different character.”

Yeah. I played a truly evil character in a game where all the other players were good. We made it work with a few rules.

It wad a group I had played with so we all knew each other and liked each other.

We made it so my character was under a curse and bound to the party. He was forced to act in what he thought was in the parties best interest but could do it in evil ways. No secret backstabbing.

All players got an interrupt cantrip that acted like a stun gun on my character.

I made it clear to the other players that using the stun on my character was fine with me and I expected it. When they did use it I never got upset and would usually laugh.

Knowing when to take center stage and when to step back and let other players have their moment.

We had a great time and I still miss my undead “Wight supremacist”.

No wonder it can be hard to find people to play with, they’re all under that guy’s rose bushes…

Make his character the bbg of the next game.
