Just bought a classical guitar and decided to just hammer two nails in the wall and hang it up with the nails sliding into the top of the headstock as you can see in the picture.

Just wondering if this may cause any warping over time or if this is just a dumb idea in general. It seems pretty secure for what it’s worth.

You should be ok as long as the guitar weighs less than 5.97x10^30 kgs.

Heavier than that, and you’ll have quite significant warping of time and you won’t be able to get your guitar back in time for the gig.

That’s clearly not a Les Paul, weight shouldn’t be a problem.

Classical guitars are pretty light. I think it should be fine.

It’ll hold, but please wrap at least a bit of felt around them to protect the varnish. Also, a good wall hanger for guitars is like $20 on Amazon.

I’ve never heard of two nails warping time. But I guess there is still so much about quantum mechanics we have yet to fully grasp.

But in all seriousness, if it is genuinely concerning for you, my best advice is to get some drywall anchors and screws. Even the lightest weight wall anchor should be more than strong enough to hold up a guitar.

Also, repairing small holes in drywall is super easy. Tons of videos on YouTube if you ever find yourself in that situation.

    Now, it’s time I love on. 😗 😇

If you’re worried about warping, make sure you keep the humidity in the room under control. The nails should be fine so long as they’re in a wall stud and not just drywall.

I know some front of house staff that prove this very wrong.
