Do you mark the top left square?

I never know to click if there is only a tiny bit of bus/firehydrant/bicycle or whatever, in the square. And the CAPTCHA doesn’t seem to be consistent about it either.

The captcha test typically isn’t whether you can correctly identify it, it’s whether your actions on the computer appear to be human. Hesitation, moving the mouse like a human, etc. Which square you pick, doesn’t matter in the end. However, I do believe they have used that for training data to help AI.

I thought they used a crowdsourced database that weeds out incorrect answers. So if 86% of users that are shown image_1234.jpg with type BIKE select it, and you are shown 1234 but do not select it when you are assigned BIKE images, you fail.

Being pedantic doesn’t work either though. “All squares that contain cars” e.g. the tiny corner of a side mirror is not “cars.”

I know what they meant and it still pisses me off that CAPTCHAs don’t say click on EACH square that contains cars, or a car, or a penis or whatever. Using the plural is intentionally vague

Or the reflection of a car in a window.

Or the monitor that is displaying the images that are representative of cars but are actually pixels.

It generally doesn’t matter, because if you’re doubtful about it, there is likely no correct answer demanded by the system.
