This makes an amazing sandwich, especially with lots of freshly ground pepper.

My favorite bagel has heirloom tomatoes, fresh dill, capers, salt, pepper, and a light drizzle of olive oil. Just flawless.

Radishes have a nice peppery bite to them. Toss some slices on top with a few chili flakes.

I like to top cream cheese on bagel with sliced cherry tomatoes or fresh figs if they’re in season. You can also mix some chopped raisins, a bit of honey, and cinnamon into plain cream cheese for an easy, yet yummy spread.

Want to make it extra yummy? Dried tomatoes. One of the white pizze that I prepare often is mascarpone (basically cream cheese), sun-dried tomatoes and mushrooms, it’s really easy to adapt this into your bagel.

Growing up my mum would often make what she would call “poor man’s cheese cake.”

Take a Graham cracker, put a personally appropriate schmear of cream cheese on, add whatever jam you have on hand (my personal favs are blackberry/blueberry and raspberry, top with one or more fresh pieces of fruit.

Some of the less obvious ideas: celery, red onion, alfalfa sprouts, apple.

    Man, pretty much anything.

    Oh… on a bagel?

I usually just steam some veggies in the microwave, drain out the water, toss a pat of cream cheese in the bowl and leave it covered for a bit while it melts in the steamy veggies. Hit it with some garlic powder and sea salt and pepper. Good eatin’!

What else do you eat cream cheese with? Genuine question, I only recently started eating cream cheese, and I’ve only ever eaten it with bagels or toasted bread

It’s great for adding to broth to make creamy soups or as a dip for kettle cooked chips.

Also bacon and cream cheese on a bagel is incredible but that’s not veggies 😂

Two things I’ve tried and loved on a plain bagel with plain cream cheese. Kiwi, and sour cherry jam.

Idk what it is about the tart combo but it goes well. I may have to try mango with the kiwi next time they’re available…

Kimchi or sauerkraut is my favourite to pair with cream cheese on toast. Mushroom pate topped with celery slices are really good on rice cakes with cream cheese too.

(Vegan cheeses have come such a long way in the last decade! I recently tried vegan cream cheese again and while it melted a bit funny on hot toast, wow was the flavour spot on for what I remember the dairy stuff being like!)
