Are you sure your adblocker is working? I was having trouble with mine just yesterday when i found out ublock origin has an additional setting you need to click to keep blocking YouTube ads now

But yes, sometimes you need to go into Ublock Origin’s settings and manually update to stay ahead of YouTube’s updates to their filter blocking.

Don’t unmonetized videos still play ads sometimes? I seem to remember that being a really questionable conflict of interest issue a while back (because it would mean it’s technically more profitable for youtube to demonetize your videos than monetize them).

Funny story. I recently tried to find it. Like actively searched for it… and came up with nothing but a few screen shots of the dudes face. I also tried to find any kind of gore or death images using any of the major searcg engines. (I wanted to send something horrible to a scammer that was texting me when I posted something for sale.)
The Internet of old has been sanitized to prevent finding undesirable things. It’s sad.
Short term solution: convince other users to use piped.video or FreeTube
Long term solution: convince creators to post on PeerTubethe second one will never work as there’s no audience, nor money to gather on peertube
If popular creators start talking about PeerTube, there will eventually be an audience there, which means there will be money too.

I think most youtubers either have sponsors or Patreon. I don’t think they rely on YouTube’s ads anymore.
