Hell I would not be surprised in the least if she was gunned down. Damned near every culture has some level of taboo around killing dogs, breaking that taboo is probably not the smartest move.

I just watched a video where the director of John Wick was talking about how hard he had to fight the studio to kill the puppy right at the top of the movie.
Just to clarify for anybody who misread this like I did: They kill a dog in the script of the movie. The director didn’t have to actually kill a dog and film it.
