Absolutely! Good on that family for letting her express herself how she wants! I couldn’t even dye my hair without the threat of getting kicked out lol

Yoooooo, I saw this picture as well but didn’t realise it was the same person. That’s so cool.

If you meant candles, second one has 15. Probably unrelated to age though.

Edit: Nevermind, no idea. KnowYourMeme claims she was 15 in the first picture, actually, no idea about the recreation. I guess I won’t find the figures.

Edit 2: Hmm, found the source. 2021 and 2023. Really just 2 years of difference, and that means KYM is wrong. So it seems first is 13, second 15. Interesting.

            2 years only?

But yeah from 13 to 15 it’s a big jump. Almost a mutation lol

The thing I never understood about goth is that it looks like so much effort. The makeup, cloths, hair, it all looks like a ton of work. I always thought it was about embracing how dismal and pointless life is.

That’s nihilism goth is more an aesthetic and lifestyle. Doesn’t necessarily have to have a deeper meaning.

Yeah, I think I look at it like a template for self expression. If it helps you say what you want to say, then more power to you. What exactly that is won’t be the same for each person.

Reading that one person’s arguments hurt so much. Imagine gatekeeping something like that. lmao

          My favorite part was:

buying a leather jacket and pre-torn pants would get you laughed out of a punk rock gathering where everything is thrifted and modified DIY

It’s like: “Hey! did someone else tear those pants? Why haven’t you modified your jacket?!? GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE!!!”

            Tonight in CSI Punk:

“Analysis of the tearing pattern in these pants suggest that the owner did not rip them themselves. This tear was done by a machine…in the factory!!1eleven! Clearly the suspect is nothing but an impostor”

“We also found a reciept for these pants from a local luxury store. Seems like the owner got…ripped off”

            YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I always thought it was about embracing how dismal and pointless life is.

It means different things to different people. Which kind of makes sense, if you think about how music and style spreads around the world and hits different people in different cultural contexts.

Some people just listen to the music and don’t get all gussied up. Some people express themselves through professional-quality costumes. Some people use the style to create an identity on social media. Some people use the music and style to explore their cultural heritage. etc.

She’s disturbingly close to Juggalo territory here.
