I’m sorry but if you don’t release this report, you can’t continue calling yourself an ethics committee, because you objectively aren’t.
House ethics committee. They’re arguing they don’t investigate anyone outside of congress. They’re not weighing in on the ethical actions of random people.
I mean it’s a stupid argument since the investigation is about a member of the house. At no point was the investigation done on someone that wasn’t a congressman during the investigation. It’s just the dumbest, most republican-ass, totally unsurprising move. But, it’s not like these Republicans are known for their ethics.
Has Trump nominated anyone yet that hasn’t been involved in issues of sexual assault or harassment? Maybe Dr. Oz, but other than that, he’s really knocking them out of the park. If the GOP starting getting critical of pedophiles, they’d lose half their caucus.
The ironic thing here is that the ethics committee is a shit committee. They don’t have anywhere near the influence you think it does.
