A partial fingerprint and DNA recovered during the search have so far not yielded matches when compared against law enforcement databases, according to a law enforcement official

    This got rushed…

Meanwhile the NYPD specifically and law enforcement in general has a massive backlog of untested rape kits they can’t even quantify because they’re spread out in hospital closets all over the place without even a comprehensive index.

The fact that NYPD is fast tracking this is exactly why everyone hates law enforcement.

There’s a different set of rules for the wealthy than everyone else, and a different set of punishments.

Anytime a wealthy person is the criminal it takes years (if ever) to see a court date. If the victim is a wealthy person everything else gets thrown out the window.

Or Exxon who made a ton of promises they knew they couldn’t keep, and then had the Valdez spill that decimated a whole community and then some.

          Exxon Valdez oil spill

          Exxon denial -

“We’ve done 350 peer-reviewed studies of Prince William Sound, and those studies conclude that Prince William Sound has recovered, it’s healthy and it’s thriving.”

          From 2014 (25yrs later) -

Federal scientists estimate that between 16,000 and 21,000 US gallons (61 to 79 m3) of oil remains on beaches in Prince William Sound and up to 450 miles (725 km) away. Some of the oil does not appear to have biodegraded at all. A USGS scientist who analyses the remaining oil along the coastline states that it remains among rocks and between tide marks. “The oil mixes with seawater and forms an emulsion…Left out, the surface crusts over but the inside still has the consistency of mayonnaise – or mousse.”

No, they’d skip everyone in the backlog and do the wealthy person’s…

The difference isn’t the crime, it’s the social standing of the victim.

Like, there’s been other murders in NYC, which would have also left this kind of evidence, they don’t check those either.

No worries, when they’re brought up a common complaint is there could very likely be a fraction of rapists as there are victims.

Because serial rapists are a thing, and the open knowledge that cops don’t care about them unless the victim is high social standing means they’re likely to keep doing it.

But that still doesn’t get cops to look at a backlog in those few cases to see if there’s matches. People that habitually prey on others know that if you target the rich, the cops actually try. So with a high profile victim, it’s more likely to be staged as random crime of opportunity as to really be random.

If you look back on serial killers/rapists that were caught, it’s pretty common for them to be caught because one of their victims was from “middle class” or higher, and the vast majority of victims were from disadvantaged communities.

So there’s a lot going on with the topic.

In for a penny, in for a pound: maybe he’ll “slip up” and imply that he’s a serial rapist, then refuse to answer any further questions about it. Make them search the evidence.

Working off of a tip, police stopped a person traveling by bus and recovered a suppressor and a number of false IDs, one of the officials added.

A GoFundMe for legal defense would break the interenet, and I gotta feel like this guy knows that…

Also, for anyone wondering why he’d ditch a gun and save a suppressor, it’s because suppressors are federally registered. In many states a gun can show up and be connected to a crime, and they can just say it was sold to someone and they do t remember/know the buyers name.

A silencer has accountability and would need a paper trail showing a transfer of ownership.

      Edit:

Apparently other sources say he had the fun too:

      https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/man-questioned-pennsylvania-similar-gun-used-unitedhealthcare-ceo-shoo-rcna183443

But still, it’s crazy we dont have a federal gun registry and not all states have them either.

I don’t have a wealth of gun knowledge, but I read at least one report right after the shooting naming the type of pistol and why suspect chose it (because it had a long barrel that worked as a suppressor without having to attach/buy one). It even stated that because of the obscurity of the pistol it would 1) narrow down the amount of people owning one 2) would likely be someone with a good knowledge of firearms and well thoughout plan.

There’s the “Welrod” which is WW2 era and at least one modern replica produced today.

Those are designed to be as quite as possible, and require each round to be manually loaded by rotating the back of the gun. Like, its comparable maybe even quieter than shutting a car door.

But it definitely wasn’t what was used in the video.

Also, I just saw another article that says he still had the gun too.

After firing each shot, the gunman racked back the pistol to load a new round, then racked it again when it jammed, John Monaghan, a retired NYPD captain, told CNN on Friday.

“It’s a very unique weapon. The length of the barrel in that video right there tells us it most probably is a veterinary pistol,” he added.

Yeah, that guy just had no idea what he was talking about…

Vets rarely use gunpowder pistols, at most they use these weird pistols that require the barrel being removed to load each round, and only like a 3 inch barrel max, often barely longer than the bullet even. One always gets posted in gun deal communities as a joke for like $99.99

I 100% see reading that article and assuming he knew what he was talking about tho.

But especially with the NYPD, a lot of captains are fucking idiots and wildly corrupt, Eric Adams was one too. They don’t rise they the ranks by being good cops, they make captain by being corrupt.

Yes, this is what the highly credible NYPD was claiming. However, the B&T requires the user to twist the rear to lock and unlock the action when cycling. This motion is not visible in the assassination video. Also, there would be no purpose in slapping the back of the slide to ensure it’s in battery, as is done in the same video.

The handwritten manifesto found on the person of the man detained in Altoona criticized health care companies for putting profits above care, according to a senior law enforcement official.

The man who was detained at McDonald’s showed the police the same fake New Jersey identification that the man believed to be the gunman presented when he checked into a hostel on the Upper West Side of Manhattan on Nov. 24, a senior law enforcement official said.
