If you played witcher 3 and didn’t think ciri would be the protagonist of 4 you are very dumb.

I haven’t played any of the games. I only watched the Netflix series and it’s pretty fucking obvious that Ciri is Geralt’s heir-apparent.

And if you read the books, it also comes as no surprise.

There were some leaks or rumors that the main protagonist of the new Witcher game will be somebody new from the new School of the Lynx.

I was excited to play as somebody completely new and somebody who isn’t in Geralt’s circle.

Ciri is a great character though and I’m looking forward to the game either way.

Ciri’s medallion in the trailer was a Lynx medallion. It’s probable we will see a new character that’s a Lynx witcher, maybe either a student or teacher to Ciri.

That’s Ciri, right? Forgive me, but who’s the other person?

I don’t follow the gamergate crowd (or Twitter, at all), but isn’t it established that female protags in games are awesome? FemV and FemShep VAs freaking killed their roles. Kassandra was so much better than… whoever her brother was. And don’t even get my started with squadmates, like Gamora in GOTG or literally anyone female in BG3.

Like, even if I was a raging sexist, the argument that a female protag is unimmersive is beyond stupid.

The character in Naughty Dog’s new game, Intergalactic. Naturally there’s been uproar over a FEMALE with a SHAVED HEAD.

Women have no obligation to please me, but the rise of popularity of ladies with shaved heads and undercuts in the late '10s and early-mid '20s now is immensely satisfying to my aesthetic tastes.

But ultimately, anyone throwing a shitfit over a protagonist’s hairstyle because it’s ‘too/not enough’ ‘masculine/feminine’ is major cringe.

Was there ever an uproar over Geralt having long hair?

Yes, but it was mostly slashfic writers who kept to themselves.

Hmm, I don’t really remember that. But I read those books a LONG time ago. It is time for reread I guess.

      I mostly just remember

      Tap for spoiler

How Geralt and Ciri met, some dude that could turn into golden dragon, Ciri on frozen lake, Regis, some bad mage with similar name as Voldemort

      Username checks out btw.

Categorically that’s punching up. While sexists may individually lack personal power, wealth or influence, collectively they operate from a place of cultural institutional power.
