I used to work with a guy that (like clockwork) after every break would come back sneezing and sniffling and he never stopped moving. We all knee what was going on, but noone ever said anything because he got so much done during those 30 mins.

Yeah, from an employer’s perspective a blind eye might be the best policy for this sort of thing.

Not from a liability standpoint though.

Yeah, 9 out of ten corporate lawyers probably recommend the no coke in bathroom sign from that standpoint…

Hey, how was I to know they were doing coke in the bathroom? It’s against policy, and I don’t peep at people in the bathroom.

            Boom, plausible deniability secured.

I’ve always advocated for this in bars where I’ve worked. I know you’re doing cocaine. I don’t care. It makes you buy more drinks. Do it discretely in the corner and free up the toilets for people that actually need to use them. I won’t say shit.

It’s not the bar staff people are worried about, it’s the bouncers.

The hell is that electrical box doing… there’s only one conduit coming into it, and it doesn’t have a device on it… why does it exist??

maybe it was in the blueprints when the job was bid but hasnt been needed yet. or maybe thats where they store their coke and a tiny folding table and mirror.

Its either that, or it was once used and got abandoned. Either way I can’t help but laugh at a meaningless box, even if it makes more sense to just abandon it than go through the effort of tearing it out

It seems to be some kind of production facility with machines standing in there. So maybe the Idea is to have electrical boxes on every pillar, so you’ll have electricity available wherever you place the machines. If the production lines are changed regularly, you wouldn’t want to rewire the entire building each time. A bit like these cubes hanging from the ceiling so you don’t need to run extension cords through your workshop whenever you need power somewhere, but a bit more encapsulated.

At that height I would bet it used to be a fire alarm, and the box got abandoned after the alarm system was changed

The conduit isn’t painted red so it might not have been life safety, unless it got painted over to match the column after it became abandoned. My guess is an emergency light, which wouldn’t have needed to be easily discernable. However, it does seem to have definitely had a purpose at one point because the (original) cover more than likely would have been painted to match as well, or would have not been necessary if was a device.

Regardless, even if it was an abandoned fire alarm circuit, the conduit should still be red.

Every time I see this quoted somewhere, I immediately think of that fateful moment on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Season 7, Episode 16, when they’re all at dinner in Hong Kong.

Lisa Rinna and Dorit Kemsley are feuding, and Rinna leans over the table and point blank just asks, “Were people doing coke in your bathroom?” 😂

Low key the dinner from weeks prior that Rinna is referencing WAS weird af (the whole table of women got up and just left her there alone to all go to the bathroom together), and chaotic, so I do think they were doing SOMETHING in the bathroom.

Don’t do coke in the bathroom (especially off the toilet seat)
