Summary

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) argued that California does not deserve federal aid for its deadly Los Angeles wildfires unless the state adopts changes.

In a Newsmax interview, Tuberville criticized California leadership, falsely attributing wildfire mismanagement to “inner-city woke policies.”

While he expressed willingness to support some funding, he insisted it be conditional on reforms.

The wildfires have killed 24 people and destroyed thousands of homes, per the Associated Press, intensifying debates on state accountability and federal disaster relief.

California should stop sending any federal taxes to the government until they’ve fixed up their state.

Tuberville’s state will have to make do without their portion of California’s huge contribution to the federal budget.

Cali should stop paying federal shit then. See how much your State rakes in from Cali taxes, Tuber. Here’s a hint: its orders of magnitude more than fucking Alabama contributes to the union as a whole.

California doesnt deserve federal funds to aid in a natural disaster?? Then I dont wanna see SHIT the next time florida goes underwater or texas gets snowed in. Deal with it yourselves or change your ways. 🤷

I was looking for this comment. Like literally twice in recent history, Texas has had major issues with power and freezing temps. “Must be all those iced up windmills” they’d have you think. Then they turn around and ask for help and aid while their governor decides Cancun MEXICO (the ‘evil’ border facilitator to the south) is better digs than his own shitty froze over home, saying fuck everyone else in the state, I’ll take those tax dollars on a plane and peace out.

You know what then Texas, Florida, ALABAMA. 🤬 off, the next time you need disaster aid. Because, you DONT DESERVE IT, UNLESS YOU CHANGE YOUR WAYS, TUBERTUCK!

Jesus Christ. I’m so sick of this game. Like is it lack of education? Lead in the pipes? I’m… I cannot wrap my head around this preposterous stance. There is a REASON we traditionally do not make disasters a PARTISAN ISSUE. 🤦‍♂️

After everything, Trump, blah blah. Just. How the fuck did we get here??

Sorry person I replied to. I just had to get all that out. Otherwise I feel like I’m waiting for the dream to end. To wake up in normalcy.

They got 40 million people in that state and they voting these imbeciles in office, and they continue to do it.

Even in an era in which Republicans have come to be defined by psychological projection and unintentional irony, Tommy Tuberville calling someone else an imbecile stands out.

California needs to stop paying into federal coffers immediately. This illusion that the world’s 10th 5th largest economy is a mismanaged shithole needs to be publicly ridiculed.

The only way I can think of is to secede and have Californians pay the amount they would pay in federal taxes to the State. At that point, the State could modify those tax rates and laws to better reflect the needs of the people and the State.

Hypothetical alternate reality: Bernie Sanders has won the presidency but hasn’t taken office yet, George W. Bush has just died and there’s just been a massive fire in Texas.

Sanders refuses to fly the flag at half mast for his inauguration, someone from his not-yet-in-power cabinet has told Texas it can fuck off for aid unless it becomes socialist, there’s a publicly published plan for an ultra-left-wing takeover of the country that he swore he’d never heard of until the day after he won the election when he suddenly went “Oh yeah we are doing that lol” and also Bill Gates is living in his house, has a cabinet position and is openly provoking friendly countries with overthrowing their governments.

How chill do we think the MAGA crowd would be in this scenario?

If I’m still alive when Trump finally meets the scales of justice, I’m going to attach a helium balloon to my (currently flagless) flagpole, and put the flag on the balloon. That way it can be more than full mast.

I just hate these assholes so very much. I cannot imagine having everything in my life burned to the ground, literally, and then having these sanctimonious assholes sitting there and doing this performative bullshit just to “own the libs”.

I’m not saying it is right, but if a lot of these assholes start catching bullets, including the broligarch douchebags that are backing them, no one should be surprised.

A lot of these people hit with fire may be privileged in the general scheme of things, but then, so was Luigi.

And if I understand correctly, he ended up on the path he was on due to severe back pain? Which I’m sure can be excruciating. But then, I’m sure the loss of a house and basically everything you had might be very excruciating, too. And to have these assholes from other states playing games and trying to “own” more than half the country, all while you suffer and for no reason?

I could easily see how that would lead someone down a certain path…

NEWSMAX: Why should other states be bailing out California for choosing the wrong people to run their state?

The question is just as fucked as the answer, unsurprising from fucking newsmax

It would be hilarious that a senator from fucking ALABAMA is insisting that California needs reforms, if not for the fact that Tuberville is an absolute waste of oxygen. It’s like hearing a funny stand-up bit and then learning it was performed by your brain tumor.

Yes because if HE ran the state there would be NO revenue to budget ANYTHING! All those delicious state taxes would be given directly to a major corporation who donates the most money to his election campaign. That’s politics! Not some dumb ‘‘helping citizens not die’’ bullshit.

I hate it when woke makes the wind gust 100 mph and carry embers for miles, to the extent that a 100 lane road surrounding a building still wouldn’t have stopped it from burning.

    Me: Reads the firts part

Adopting change? Am I about to agree with a traitor to America about bettering the life for people? Reducing police spending maybe even?

Reads the “woke is bad” part

Nevermind, they still hate life and want everyone to suffer. Reliably inhuman.
