Just seemed like a fun question. I have been getting Kroger brand, and they seem to have a lot more plain fat chunks than they used to. And usually fat is where the flavor is, but these seem flavorless. But what else makes a good bacon bit? And what is your favorite brand?

What do you mean brand? Bacon doesn’t have a brand. You go to a good butcher and buy bacon. No brands are involved.

The Hormel Real Crumbled Bacon, I don’t have a Kroger near me so I’ve never had theirs. It has various sized bits of bacon. I’ve been putting them on croissants with different cheeses and heating in microwave.

      Can’t argue with that.

just strips of bacon in the oven on the grease collector pan, then fridge, then crunch it up and freeze the excess on a pan, then jar it and store in the freezer. some fridge portion always left for snacking too.

Any that are spelled Bac’n or don’t contain the words “real bacon” are soy protein and vegan friendly.

The McCormick Bacon Bits are vegan, are they not? They’re soy flour and veggie oil.

There also looks to be some varieties in packets that look to have a more chewy texture these days.

No favorite brand or recipe for a smokey crisp salad topping?

I used to buy some brand that I knew was fake, but I don’t really care for them much so I stopped buying them.
