The whole idea that autism = bad isn’t necessarily right or that simple anyways. I find that being on the spectrum is honestly an advantage for the type of work I do.

it’s a sidegrade, the only part of it that’s bad is that modern societies are actively structured to disadvantage neurodivergent people.

I know some people may hate Penn Jillette, but I really liked his take on it from his and Teller’s show, BULLSHIT. Basically, they said, let’s say it does, vaccines cause all cases of autism. It doesn’t matter. The cases of autism are far, far outnumbered by the people saved by vaccines. So even if it were true, it’s still a better outcome than an iron lung or death. They absolutely don’t, but if they did, it wouldn’t change the fact that we’re better off vaccinating than not.

the whole thing hinges on autism being terrible anyways, they might as well be saying that vaccines make you black for how much sense it makes.

Who gives a shit if something magically makes you autistic? Shitloads of people go their entire life without anyone realizing they’re autistic.

Vaccines save your life. Therefore, without vaccines, there’s a good chance that you wouldn’t be alive long enough to be diagnosed with autism.

I see no flaw with this logic. Clearly pluto, along with vaccines are the cause of autism.

And 98% of pluto is nitrogen ice. And 78% of earth’s atmosphere is what? NITROGEN

        therefore nitrogen causes autism, too

Wait aren’t all fertilisers full of nitrogen? Oh no! Our food supply is contaminated! We must send all animal poop to space as to not taint our beautiful earth with nitrogen.

I was going to make a joke about Dihydrogen Monoxide, but this one is better.

I wonder if there’s a similar joke with something from around the timeframe of when autism diagnosis criteria changed (70s-90s)

At least in the US, that time frame is known for removing lead from gasoline and the beginning of disallowing smoking inside restaurants etc. So clearly, those harmful airborne particulates were bolstering our immune system. Without them… believe it or not, more autism.

It could also be the steady decline in the pirate population, though that’s more closely associated with the cause of global warming:

Awgggggggg THE 5G Its cooking by brain like a toastinos pizza roll!

Mmmmm Piza rolls Dis very good mel for da stomac Ther 5G make very smol brain

My apologizes that was actually just a lack for understanding of how modern technology. Technically every radiowave is a microwave with very-ing wave lengths. Which have all been deemed safe because they are not tight wavelengths like an actual microwave. But are actually a fraction of a fraction of the output power, you have a higher chance of getting damage from UV from the wretched grass infested outdoors. Than a wifi router or cellphone tower.

It’s the nanobots inside the vaccines that attract the 5g waves. Get it right.

It’s cuz I missed and administered the vaccine intracranially. Turns out it has some undesirable effects when it gets beneath the dura. Rookie mistake - my bad. Won’t happen again.

I think it is likely that putting babies into day care prior to 2 years is the real reason why we are all so regarded or maybe it was under diagnosed

Vaccines is lower risk factor IMHO but I am just an unhinged shit poster so… Do your own DD

Leaded gasoline was legal until the early 90s. More and more data seem to point to this behind the cause of many mental disorders

Gen X got the brunt of that though not millennials. They started phasing out lead in 1973. Autism isn’t a mental disorder and not one linked to lead exposure afaik

Lead was phased out long before then. A steady decline in crime has been attributed to it’s removal. Not just in the US but in other countries also

They might be thinking of nuclear bomb testing that went into the 90s. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was associated with various health issues, too.

No I googled it, they’re correct. Lead in gas was outlawed in the 90’ but they started phasing it out starting in the 70’s. I started driving in '84 and don’t recall ever having a choice but my memory is fallible
