Huh. I guess I was right to laugh in the faces of qons and Enlightened Centrists ™ when they would say it was histrionic to invoke Orwell when it comes to the Republicans, especially in the age of donvict.
The US Supreme Court ruled that laws don’t apply to the President. All these articles talking about Trump breaking the law are falling victim to normalcy bias, a normal that died July 1, 2024. A referee isn’t going to descend from the heavens to put Trump in the penalty box. If you don’t like what’s happening you won’t be able to appeal to law to help you. Think of something else.
Yeah, they can cite the language of the statutes all they want, but Trump is still above the law. And any of his subordinates who break the law will get a pardon, so we’re genuinely in lawless territory now. The media needs to get their fucking act together and call this out every single time, and stop pretending any of this is normal.
