I love Big Joel, though I do think Little Joel has higher quality social commentary!

Idk… I just love the eggs and the candy bar. Seriously art in my opinion.

        Eggs, is deeply strange.

And the candy bar, is just the best analysis of a series of tweets. It highlights beautifully the deeply strange and contradictory behavior discussed in those tweets.

I bought six thousand dozen eggs back when they were cheap in 2006 and froze them. Y’all are suckers for paying $10 for a carton. Should have bought them back when a carton was 84¢. Fools, the lot of you.

I don’t even know what’s going on over they. They are freaking out about egg prices?

I just came from the grocery store and there was a dozen bottom shelf for $4 and top shelf for $9. This is being blown away out of proportion on social media

Depends on where you live, etc. My dad was telling me last week, since he keeps track of what he pays for food, that last year eggs went from $4 to about $8 for your basic grocery store eggs.

Depends on where you are. Cheapest next to me is $7.42 per dozen.

I just spent $12 on an 18 pack. There was no other option.

Yes, pre-pandemic eggs would average like $1.25 a dozen and fancy (more ethical) would be like $3 or $4. After pandemic average had been around 3 or 4 and fancy around 5 or 6. Currently average costs around $9 and fancy around 12. Since our health agencies are getting fucked despite the ongoing bird flu prices are only expected to get worse for domestic eggs. As a bonus to this Republicans are putting tariffs on our neighbors (Mexico and Canada) so prices will remain higher even with importing any shortfall of domestic production.

Eggs are historically a cheap source of protein but are now more expensive than meat. Eggs prices were one of the main stated reasons that people believed the economy wasn’t doing well under Biden.

The egg prices are a meme at this point, but we have been dealing with increasing wealth inequality and inflation. Prices are going up, but people aren’t making enough.

Lots of people voted for trump because he promised to lower price’on day one’ however, as usual for the republican agenda, all the moves he makes will hurt the average American and enrich the billionaires.

The most recent things are putting tariffs on Mexican and Canadian goods, and a lesser tariff, though still significant, on china. This will only raise prices for Americans

I think we’re all supposed to not be able to afford eggs for some reason.

Make your pancakes with ground flaxseed and warm water to substitute the eggs! I ran out of eggs one day and my family couldn’t even tell I changed anything.

The number of times I’ve run out of eggs, but not out of ground flax seed, had been rather low.

If you buy a bag of flaxseed it will last you for months and months

The amount of flaxseed you need to substitute one egg is tiny
