I’m gonna come out in favour of this, despite the comments. One last outing, why not? A guest star spot I think is overdue for any remaining TOSers in SNW. Even if it isn’t the greatest episode, I can’t see any harm, and Shatner reprising the role would drive engagement pretty high (meaning more episodes!)
Imagine:
A one off episode of Strange New Worlds where the crew are all transformed into 90 year olds.
Guest staring William Shatner as old young Kirk.
He comes back in Star Trek, just not as Kirk but instead as Walter Bascom from TekWar.
General Mortars returns!
softly Don’t.
Shatner is one of those people I can’t believe is still alive, I’m surprised every time I hear about him
It’s amazing how an actor can have the majority of his career based on one role, spending decades interacting with fans at conventions and with new writers who watched Captain Kirk as a kid… could also so throughly misunderstand the appeal of his own show.
Bill grew up in the Flash Gordon era of sci-fi and has never left. I say we leave him there. Nothing good comes from his return.
I’m dying for that TJ Hooker rival
Pass.
Oh no.
I’m still able to separate the work from the creator in his case. Don’t fuck that up, Bill.
the original James T. Kirk could bodly go once again
Uhhh…
How will they write his rebirth? He died a few times on the show already.
