Hoping all is well for him and his family. A major move like that in fairly short time is a lot to handle. I read a post not too long ago that his daughter has more friends and socialization going on in the brief time there than when in the US.

I have very few memories from the first three months after moving. The stress of moving combined with looking for a job combined with selling our old house just all piled on to everything. Couldn’t imagine what it’s like with the added burden of children and it being a different country.
Naw. Sent a DM a couple days back to check in, but have heard nothing. Here’s hoping they’re just busy with the real world.
Went to the beach for a donkey ride and just rode off into the sunset.

Eh. I have plenty of pictures of my daughter naked as a baby. The weird part of this is showing off the naked picture to a stranger on the bus and making mention of the genitals in specific.
Anyway, everyone knows that naked baby pictures are used to torture children in front of their serious romantic partners brought home for the first time. This has not happened in my 14-year-old daughter’s life yet, but I hope to one day have this privilege that comes with parenting.

Last time I asked about the inability to eat solid food was a couple of months ago if memory serves. He said he was doing well after the move to the UK, but the food situation had not changed. Also he was in desperate need of finding a job and was really struggling on that front.
I hope all is okay.
The last thing I remember seeing from him was a fight with another user, and a slew of deleted comments talking about suicide. I really hope he’s okay
They were hanging around here and posting more in the few weeks following that. I was keeping an eye open for them after seeing that whole… debacle.
Whatever else might have happened I’m pretty confident that that argument, at least, isn’t of concern anymore. I hope.
I have had my own share of publicly threatening suicide over internet arguments, so I guess feel that the urge was already there for him, too. Moving to a different continent is difficult enough without all the other struggles Squid has shared, I just hope someone who knows him irl is checking in on him

Eh, Squid was definitely a bit of a shit stirrer the last couple weeks I saw them post. Pretty sure they caught some bans from a few communities for incivility. Hope everything is going ok for them, but I think taking a break from Lemmy will be a good thing.
