Fun time to remind people, you used to be able to buy Laudanum over-the-counter. For those who don’t know their classical medicine, or only recognize it from Amnesia: The Dark Descent, it’s typically 10% OPIUM per bottle.
Fun Fact: It was cheaper than liquor for a time, despite being a mixture of alcohol and opium, because it was classified as a medicine and exempt from a punitive liquor tax.
