X now lets any user AI-edit other users’ images without consent, with no opt-out option for uploaders, allowing unauthorized changes and NSFW edits that have sparked backlash over privacy and copyright concerns

A few days ago X introduced a new AI Image Editing button that lets any user modify images posted by others, even without the original uploader’s consent. Image owners are not notified when edits are made, and the feature is enabled by default with no opt-out option (at least not so far).

    That at least took the time and ‘effort’ to save and upload twice (on mobile, yuck). There’s not even the hint of a barrier anymore, it’s all in one button.
