A 50-year-old earning money on OnlyFans? Big respect.

Hopefully, despite her losing her teaching job, this publicity boost will really help her make up for the lost income.

But my fucking god… she had been teaching for thirty years! Do these assholes forcing her to resign think that kids won’t lust after hot teachers if they aren’t on OnlyFans? Because they won’t. The only difference OnlyFans make is that those kids can illegally see her naked. And if they watch any adult content, it’s not legal.

And most kids will still want to pass her class, so they’re going to do the assignments and try to pay attention even if they’re jerking off to her after they finish their homework.

More importantly, pay teachers what they’re worth and they won’t have to resort to things like OnlyFans to make up the difference.

I think that is complimentary to what I’m saying. Absolutely pay teachers more, but if she was paid really well as a teacher and still decided to do OnlyFans, that should be none of the school corporation’s business.

IMO nobody’s social media of any kind should have any affect on ones employment. Employers everywhere should be banned from looking at people’s social media to make employment decisions.

I can sympathize with that idea, but on the other hand, if someone is posting super racist things on Facebook and Facebook shows that they’re a low-level executive at Amazon, that reflects on Amazon and I think it would be reasonable to get rid of an employee on those grounds. But in that case, Amazon customers have Facebook accounts. Even in schools, I don’t know that I would be against firing a history teacher who posted Holocaust denials on Twitter because students can see it and it reflects on how that teacher might instruct students. In this case, none of her students should be on OnlyFans and if they are, it’s illegal. She is an English teacher, so nothing she does on OnlyFans should have an effect on her teaching either. So it’s a different situation in my opinion.

I think there’s room to have some exceptions for extremist content, I mean if people are approaching Companies to tell them about one of their employees, obviously that isn’t good

But the current situation is rather annoying, you’ve got companies retracting offers or straight up firing just hired people because of a picture they posted of a party they went to 10 years ago or some shit. Or even in extreme cases, companies demanding people’s SM credentials as a condition of hiring. That’s what’s got to change

I agree. There needs to be some sort of way of removing truly dangerous or at least damaging people while still preserving the jobs of women like this one.

Maybe pay teachers enough that they don’t have to do this if they don’t want to?

And if they do want to, how does it affect their efficacy as a teacher?

I strongly agree with both points, but it should be noted she was making almost 75k as a teacher according to the article which is definitely on the high end for Ohio teachers

was also a cheerleading coach and yearbook adviser with a salary of $74,720 at the time she resigned.

      Edit:
Reading more into the article, she’s been teaching for 30 years. 75K for that sort of experience is ridiculous

75K being the high end for educator salaries anywhere in the US is a disgrace.

Tax our corporations, tax our wealthy, pay our teachers, rebuild the middle class.

Absolutely. You shouldn’t have to dump 30+ years of your life into your job just to get a wage that should be the baseline salary for your job.

They don’t want smart teachers the same way they don’t want smart cops.

By they I mean the people funding lobbyists and cop unions, they go support the ones that cut the budget or push oppressive policies.

But the average cop is above average in intelligence. Probabilistically, when someone says cops are unintelligent, that person is even less intelligent than a glorified Pinkerton.

I am in tech. My spouse was a teacher for 9 years. I made nearly 5 times as much money as her and worked literally half as much.

        It’s egregious.

Right??? I mean the options are to pay teachers according to the importance of the job which I feel like everyone agrees is high. Or, don’t be surprised when teachers are pulling side gigs. Like pick a lane. Don’t shame the side gig if you can’t pay what the primary position is worth. I’ve been making far more than this teacher for the past 20 years and my job ain’t even close to as important as hers. Not even in the same ballpark.

      75k is livable in Ohio

      That being said.

Pay teachers more and administration less.

In my area admin gets paid 4x what teachers do.

I just don’t see how it should matter if they have an OnlyFans account. Do they think her having an account would influence the HS cheerleaders she coaches? The ones that want to make money on OnlyFans are counting the days to their 18th, and the ones that don’t, won’t. Their coach getting frisky online is not going to change that.

PS: I am also fifty, so this is not me having the open mindedness that comes with youth, this is me being Gen-X and reiterating, “whatever”.

    EDIT:

"Likewise, people can label me anything they want to; however, it doesn’t change the commendable level of dedication and exemplary work ethic I execute as an educator. Regardless of what I do in my private life for the sake of keeping a roof over my family’s head and a car parked in the garage, I remain one of the greatest English teachers ever to serve in the Springfield Local School District. "

“My students learn to value their personal and academic growth in my classroom, which is an environment where they are embraced for their individuality, they are engaged to apply their talents, and they are enlightened about their true potential. The numerous accolades and recognition I have earned over the 28 years I spent in SLS is evidence of that.”

    Fuck yeah, sista.

So I know this argument has holes and I’m playing devil’s advocate here but it would dramatically lower her authority to her students.

“I’m not gonna listen to some fuckin slut telling me what to do” is something I could very clearly see happening in a lot of cases.

It’s hard enough for teachers who live “respectful” lives to maintain their authority let alone if a kid could just go to Google and pull up the teachers nudes or a video of them getting railed like a sex toy.

Land of the free my ass.
A workplace shouldn’t even be allowed to meddle in her private affairs at all, especially since it’s a perfectly legal activity. USA is a Nazi country compared to more civilized countries in Europe. USA is allowing prejudice and bigotry to go wild without repercussions.
I can’t even imagine the hell of living in that shithole country. Grow up Americans for fucks sake! Why do we have to see these insane stories from USA every single day?

The fact they were helped by the DA is even more insane!!! The school should be fined for doing it in the first place, and the DA fired.

How about people mind their own fucking business? If it was found out and parents were in an uproar and students were misbehaving then sure, maybe do something, but it wasn’t causing a problem and some snooping asshole in the school district uncovered it. It wasn’t a fucking problem so don’t make it one.

If maybe teachers were paid a lot better, many teachers wouldn’t be forced to do things like this but it does seem the teacher is enjoying what’s she’s doing atm, so I would say that’s a big win tbh.

Still, Teachers are way underpaid for what they do tbh and get way too much shit for the things they have to put through.
