Perhaps the most striking poll came Tuesday, ahead of Trump’s first State of the Union address of his second term, which beat his own record for the longest speech to Congress.

The Reuters-Ipsos poll showed 61% of Americans agreed that Trump has “become erratic with age.” Even 30% of Republicans agreed with that sentiment.

The Reuters-Ipsos poll also showed a decrease in the percentage of Americans who say Trump is “mentally sharp and able to deal with challenges.” That number has dropped from 54% in September 2023 to 45% today.

The pessimist in me wonders if those 30% of Republicans simply don’t know what erratic means.

I’m teaching my young children to read. It’s not about too many syllables, You just won’t find this in a picture book.

You’ve got to use words that would occur in a picture book.

I can almost guarantee that a good chunk of them don’t know the difference between erratic and eccentric. “Yeah he can be a little strange sometimes, so what?”

This is what he looked like on 9/11. Like, very obviously either just suffered a stroke or was actively having one on live TV. It’s insane that people weren’t demanding the 25th amendment be invoked right then and there. The fact that this was not front page news for weeks shows how complicit the media is.

His brain was always mush, even before he got up there in years.

He’s one of those dumbasses that you always ask yourself: if he had dementia how would the layperson even be able to tell the difference between the crazy shit he did and said before and the crazy shit he does and says now?

I mean, it’s still not clear to me whether he really thinks exercise is something that is bad for you. It’s not clear to me if he really thinks stealth planes are invisible. It’s not clear to me if he thinks people that seek asylum are somehow associated with insane asylums.

    And so on.

What this poll shows is that most people can’t see mental problems in a failed business man accused of rape BEFORE they vote for him to become POTUS

TBF, I would have taken Biden in a coma over this guy.

I suspect my reasons for that are far different than the people that actively ignore(d) Pedonald’s mental acuity issues.

Mine are because I trust the Democrats would have executed the line of succession protocols in a far more sane and orderly way than the cons are likely to and any risk/damage to America would be minimal.

Conversely, I think those that support Pedonald no matter how scrambled his brain is is because they want to maximize the damage against America as much as possible, which of course they call “making America great again”. If he goes off the rails on the crazy, that’s a benefit to speedrunning the very worst things.

Can’t wait for his inevitable slip live on TV. He’s gonna do or say something so dramatically heinous or stupid that even his most fervent supporters won’t be able to ignore it.

It’s a matter of weeks now, his frontal lobe is almost completely gone.

Sure. I’m worried about this Nazis fuck being competent. If he were, he’d be a hell of a lot more dangerous.

Oh. They meant the concern over his mental acuity is increasing… not, uh, his mental acuity… increasing.

Yeah. It’s kinda hard not to notice he’s dumber than a box ‘o rocks and far less useful.

That’s what I thought, but then I got it. Here, the headline without amateur word order ambiguity:

Polls show increasing concerns about Trump’s mental acuity

Huh…we’ve known Trump was senile since before he was elected the first time. He’s just a talking point robot…arguably the best “politician” we’ve ever seen: Reagan 2.0.

If anyone recalls, Trump used the “I know what you are, but what am I?” strategy to switch the conversation to Biden’s cognitive ability from his own.

…I guess it REALLY worked, because a lot of folks have memory-holed themselves.
