I’m 43 years old and a die hard PlayStation fan since the ps1. My middle school and high school life revolved around metal gear solid, twisted metal, gran turismo, need for speed, the legend of dragoon etc. The ps2 was my first dvd player as well as well new games like gta 3, vice city, San Andreas. The ps3 was my first blu ray player and my first experience with online gaming. The ps4 was the perfect console in my opinion as well as the ps5 too. But now with Sonys announcement of no longer making physical media is a gut punch. I knew that this would eventually happen but now that it has been confirmed it still stings. I’m still happily waiting for gta 6 and enjoying gran turismo 7 with my Logitech wheel and pedals. But idk if I will be getting a ps6 when it’s released.

Well, to be fair a lot of people using windows are laughing at microslop too. Just with a few tears mixed into it.

I I think PlayStation is gonna lose a lot of the older crowd. But I don’t think the younger crowds are gonna Mind their new decisions. They kinda already grew up without physical media

      I was thinking the opposite?

I see a lot of kids trying to find a used deal at GameStop (now renamed to something else in my country as it went out of business) and also resell it when they’re done while adults (except collectors) don’t have time, just download the specific game that they want to play and didn’t want to sell it in the future also.

Many are going to get put off by the inevitable 2000 dollar price tag and decide to build a half decent old PC rig for pirate games.

    Taking a decision

European? It’s “take a decision” in my native language as well. But in idiomatic English you say “make a decision”. A decision is something you make.

At least in the US, I’ve never heard a native English speaker say “take a decision” only make, so maybe joke isn’t on you?

I’ve heard ‘take THE decision’ with the definite article in very narrow cases maybe twice. I don’t think I’ve heard it with the indefinite and it’s not common either way.

Same! As a person who was in a relationship with an American for 12 years and visited America several times for months at a time and who has grown up with American and international media all my life and am fluent in English, I’ve never ever heard anyone other than Scandinavians and other Europeans say “take a decision”, because that’s what several of us say in our own languages. Only have I ever heard “make a decision” from native speakers. 😅

As a native English speaker, both work. Make is more common though.

I’m in the US and “take a decision” is firmly not in my dialect. Taking a course of action is, naturally.

Playstation retiring the playstation store for PS3 and psvita because “after nearly two decades, the PS3 and PS Vita can no longer support the updated commerce, payment, and security needed to keep PlayStation Store operating reliably on those devices.”

Which is some real bullshit, because web browsers work just fine, and they can do Https things… Or, you could buy on pc, and download to console, but no, let’s hear the lies Sony, it’s the hardware that can’t secure my payments, right

The hardware has the capability to perform modern, supported encryption so it really is just Sony not being willing to update the software.
