Was it ever explained how a Romulan could be so Irish?

In much the same way some Romulans have ridges (Northerners) and others don’t, regional accents could develope. Why hers is so distinctly Irish you kinda have to just roll with.

I liked the Doctor Who explanation for the 10th doctor’s accent.

Rose: “If you’re alien, why do you sound like you’re from the north?” 10th Doctor: “Lots of planets have a north!”

They’ve been known to do ridiculous things to infiltrate places and kill people.

I assume the “southerners” are way more zealous and changed themselves to look not-romulan. (Vulcan and human are obvious choices)

Along with andorians and tellurites and Vulcans, yes.

Now tell me how many andorians/vulcans/tellurites you see on the show? How many are named, recurring characters? Main characters?

You might have 1 main-character Vulcan and a few more recurring per show. Maybe a small handful of recurring andorians, here and there.

Well Vulcans more or less fucked off after humoring us with the Federation. Like they’re around but mostly do their own thing. And Starfleet is headquartered on earth so clearly more humans would be interested in joining. And are any other cultures in trek as fully post scarcity gay space utopia as humans are? I don’t actually know much of anything about andorians or tellurites though.

That one actually has an explanation. Apparently by the time of TNG, nobody actually speaks French anymore. Picard gets annoyed when Data describes French as an archaic language. Maybe the English language became the primary language of the European Union? It already is, to some extent.
